President Bryan Zmijewski was first elected as a Director in June of 2014. He was elected to the position of president in June of 2016. Then in June of 2018, he was re-elected as President of the SDDAIA. Bryan has been employed with the San Diego County District Attorney’s Office since 2012. He is currently assigned to the Family Protection Unit at the East County Branch. Bryan began his law enforcement career in 1989 with the El Cajon Police Department. He is a part of the Driving Instructor Team and TASER instructor. Bryan has prior experience with the El Cajon Police Officers Association as a Board member and as the President of the ECPOA. Bryan is the newly elected president of the San Diego/Imperial Counties Chapter of PORAC.


Erik Nava - Vice President

Vice President Erik Nava was elected Vice-President in June 2016. He was re-elected in 2018 and will serve until 2020.  Erik has been employed with the San Diego County DA's Office since March of 2009. Erik is currently assigned as a Supervisor in the Gang Unit. His past assignments include time spent in the Juvenile Division, South Bay Gang Unit, North County Gang Unit and in the Fraud Division. Prior to working for the DA's Office Erik worked as a Chula Vista Police Officer for 12 years, he left the CVPD at the rank of Agent. Erik worked in the Patrol Division, School Resources, Gang Supperssion, Property Crimes and was a Detective in the Crimes of Violence/Homicide Unit.  Erik also serves on the borad of the Southern California Gang Conference (SCGC).  


Tim Cook - Treasurer

Treasurer Tim Cook has been employed with the San Diego District Attorney’s Office Since June 8th 2018. He is currently assigned to the Auto Insurance Fraud Unit. Tim spent the last 15 years with the La Mesa Police Department. While at the La Mesa Police Department, he worked a variety of assignments to include, training officer, motors, detective, and taskforce detective (RATT). In addition, he held the collateral duties of firearms, TASER and less-lethal instructor. Treasurer Cook has prior experience with the La Mesa Police Officers’ Association as a Board member, Vice President and President. In his free time, Tim coach girls’ volleyball at both Santana High School and travel ball at the Summit Volleyball Club.

 


JK Hudgins - Secretary

Secretary J.K. Hudgins has been with the District Attorney's Office since 2013 and was elected to the board as a Director in June of 2016.  In June of 2018, JK was elected as the Association's secretary. He is currently assigned to the Economic Crimes Division and is assigned to the United States Secret Service Regional Fraud Task Force. Director Hudgins comes to the DA's Office after 33 years of service with the San Diego Police Department where he served in numerous specialized and investigative assignments including traffic, vice, financial crimes and criminal intelligence.  Director Hudgins spends his off duty time in the area of real estate investment and property management. As a small business owner, J.K. brings a business oriented outlook to the association.


Carlos Medina - Director 1

Director Carlos Medina has been with the District Attorney’s Office since 2014.  He currently is assigned to Pre-Trial investigations. Carlos started off is Law Enforcement career in 1981 working with the Indiana University Police Department while pursuing one of his BA degrees.  In 1984, he joined the San Diego PD. In the 30 years with SDPD, Carlos was assigned to various tactical and investigative assignments.  He is a life time member with the National Peace Officers Association (NLPOA) where he has held every board position. Carlos is currently involved with the Boy Scouts of America as an Assistant Scout Master giving back to the community.


James Clark - Director 2

Director Jim Clark has been employed with the San Diego District Attorney’s Office since 2013. He is currently assigned to the South Bay office. When Jim was hired he was assigned to the Economics Crimes Division investigating crimes against consumers and then he was transferred to the Human Trafficking Task Force. Jim began his law enforcement career in 1987 with the San Diego Police Department. He worked in various investigative assignments with SDPD, persons and property crimes, domestic violence, vice, and narcotics. Jim is very involved with the Baker to Las Vegas law enforcement relay race, the Association’s casino night, and the DA open golf tournament. This is Jim's second term on the SDDAIA Board of Directors.


Rob Lewis - Director 3

Director Rob Lewis has been with the San Diego District Attorney’s office since June 2014. He is currently assigned to the North County office in Family Protection Division. His prior Law Enforcement experience was with San Diego Police Department for 29 years. Rob has served on the SDPD POA for 10 years as a Director. He has served in the capacity as Treasurer, Chair of Legal Committee, PAC Committee, Charity Committee and a member of the Negotiation team. He comes onto our Board with a wealth of experience and Knowledge. This is Rob's second term as a Director with the SDDAIA.


Brian Racine - Director 4

Director Brian Racine was hired as an investigator with the San Diego district Attorney’s office in June 2018. He is currently assigned to Auto Insurance Fraud Unit. Brian came to the DA’s Office after about 16 years with the Chula Vista Police Department. He started there as a Community Service Officer in 2001. In 2004, he was promoted to the position of Police Officer. He had assignments in Patrol, the Regional Auto Theft Task Force and Narcotics Enforcement Team. Brian is assigned to the Retired Medical Trust Committee.
